In 2007, Amanda Holmes founded Virtually Assured Administrative Services (VAAS). VAAS provides an array of virtual services including event planning, fundraising concepts, human resources, marketing, media and public relations, community relations, written proposals, organizational and executive services. Holmes has intentionally made career choices that have aligned with her personal commitment to serve as a positive change agent in the community.

Past positions include Development Specialist of Hubbard House, (Domestic Violence Shelter); Director of Development for The Princeton Review; Executive Director of the CHILD Cancer Fund; Associate Director of Advancement for the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Director of Community Relations for Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, Inc. She is currently employed by Rutgers University – Newark in the Office of Communications.

When asked what is it that I do for a living, my response has always been to Keep the Doors Open for the organizations I represented. But today and for the remainder of my existence, to Keep the Doors Open applies to anyone that I can help or assist in walking through their own doors making their vision into a reality.”
